My Role

UX DESIGNER, VISUAL DESIGNER, DESIGN SPRINT LEAD

I was responsible to hold a design sprint with HockeyNews. During the design sprint, I built a prototype which I then tested on users. The outcome of the design sprint was to focus on mobile first and to be able to customize content based on users’ favourite teams. I then continued to detail out wireframes and visual design for the complete responsive web solution. I was working in close collaboration with the developers, project owner and editors.

HockeyNews is like Omni for hockey, where all the latest hockey news from other magazines and newspapers are collected in one place.

My favourite team
From interviews and user testing we found out that it is important for the users to be able to follow their favourite teams or leagues. Therefore, we created a section called “My teams” where users can filter out their teams and read news relevant to them. The site will save users’ filter selections without having to create an account and login.

Chronicle and article
In addition to news about hockey, the site also includes chronicles from well known hockey profiles. Here I show a sample of a mobile chronicle page and an article page for mobile and desktop with related articles below.
